How much time should I allow for a free home inspection by Powerlift?

The average home inspection takes from 30 minutes to 1 hour. Minor problems can often be evaluated quicker, however, you should allow a minimum of 30 minutes to 1 hour and if you have extensive damage comprehensive inspections could take from 1 to 3 hours.

Is PowerLift a franchise?

No. The owners of PowerLift invented PowerLift Systems and own and control exclusive rights to install their patented systems. (Beware of companies that are only licensed to use brand name systems. Often these companies lose their rights to continue using trademark equipment which ultimately leads to your warranty being invalidated. This is a common occurrence in this industry. Beware.)

How much experience does PowerLift Foundation Repair have in the industry?

PowerLift has over 30 years of experience in the structural repair industry. We have repaired approximately 20,000 homes and buildings in Oklahoma, Arkansas, Tennessee, Arizona, North Carolina and many other states across the United States..

Do I need to be present for the inspection?

Yes, PowerLift can provide a more comprehensive evaluation of your home or building’s foundation problems if we have access to both the interior and perimeter of the structure. You may also be able to answer questions about your home and its foundation problems that will help with the evaluation.

How do you determine the extent of my home’s foundation problem and what needs to be done to repair it?

One of the most important aspects of choosing a foundation repair company to repair your home is making sure a proper evaluation of the problem is done. PowerLift home inspectors have undergone the strictest and most extensive training in the industry. When the PowerLift representative comes to your home he will ask you to show him the foundation problems that you have noticed. He will then begin an evaluation of the structure inspecting for signs and symptoms of foundation movement both inside and outside the structure. Unless the problem is very minor, elevations are taken of the structure to clarify what areas of the home have moved and how much movement has occurred. By combining the signs of foundation movement and elevation readings with years of experience in your area a comprehensive repair plan can be determined. A detailed drawing of your home’s foundation will be drawn indicating specific notes about the structure, elevation readings, and the proposed repair plan. If your home needs piers you can rest assured PowerLift will provide the proposal representing the most accurate number of piers needed for your home’s foundation problem.

(Note: Understand that the proper diagnosis of a foundation problem is critical. Thousands of home owners each year are sold repair solutions that don’t address their foundation problem properly.)

Will piering one area of my home cause another area to settle?

No. Installation of piers on one area of your home will not cause other areas to fail. For further information you can see if house lifting repairs your foundation.

Will the cracks in my brick work disappear when the work process is completed?

PowerLift takes pride in achieving the best results possible in every phase of our work. If the cracks in your home or building can be closed or corrected, PowerLift’s crews can do it. However, 100% crack closure is not always achievable and no guarantees are made by anyone in the industry that optimum crack closure will occur. Once the lifting process is completed cosmetic repairs are performed to achieve the best cosmetic results possible.

If we choose PowerLift for our foundation repair needs what can we expect when the crew arrives?

PowerLift’s crews are our best selling point. The work provided by our crew is why you chose PowerLift. We provide the most highly skilled supervisors in the industry. What about my plants and landscaping?

The PowerLift process does not require the use of heavy equipment, keeping landscape damage to a minimum. Depending on the location where piers are to be installed often times no landscape damage is done at all. However, you should be aware that if a pier has to be installed where a mature plant exists those mature plants are usually lost during the work process. Younger, less rooted plants can often be moved and re-planted once the pier installation has been completed. If you have any specific questions about your landscaping don’t hesitate to ask the inspector or crew supervisor.

Do you have insurance?

Yes. PowerLift has all the necessary insurance to protect you during the work process. Insurance certificates are available upon request.

Do you offer a guarantee or warranty?

Yes. PowerLift provides the best warranty in the industry.

What are your business hours?

We have standard business hours of 8:00 – 5:00 (Monday – Friday).

A Few More Questions About Foundation Repair

Question: “Will the proposed repairs fix the existing cracks and restore the cosmetic appeal to an acceptable condition? Will the repairs last?”

Answer: Most of the time cracks caused by foundation settlement do close considerably when the lift is made. *However, be aware that sometimes cracks do not close for various reasons. The older the damage, the less likely cracks will close. Sometimes excess mortar behind the brick accumulates in areas that won’t allow brick to rotate back into the desired position.

PowerLift crews are skilled at making cosmetic repairs to exterior brick and masonry that usually make cracks hard to find or much less noticeable.
